The 3rd International Medical Conference (IMC), organised by PAMI and co-hosted by Superior University and the University of Lahore under the theme ‘The Transformative Power of Education: Shaping the Future of Healthcare Professionals’, was held on the 11th and 12th of April, 2025.

The conference brought together healthcare professionals, researchers, industry leaders, and regulatory representatives, creating a platform for meaningful exchange on the future of medical education and practice. The discussions centred on integrating emerging technologies, strengthening ethical frameworks, and enhancing academia-industry linkages to better prepare future healthcare professionals. The keynote sessions and panel discussions further enriched the experience, fostering impactful collaborations aimed at advancing healthcare in Pakistan and beyond.

The Pakistan Association of Medical and Dental Institutions (PAMI) organised the 3rd International Medical Conference, co-hosted by Superior University and The University of Lahore.

As part of the conference, a Panel Discussion titled ‘𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐭 𝐒𝐚𝐲𝐬? 𝐄𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐚-𝐏𝐡𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩’ brought together leading voices from academia, industry, and journalism to explore a critical issue in healthcare. The distinguished panel—Prof. Akbar Chaudhary (Dean FMS, Superior University), Mr. Jamshed Ahmed (Deputy CEO, PharmEvo), Prof. Moghees Baig (Dean, UCMD UOL), Mr. Shaukat Jawaid (Chief Editor, Pakistan Journal of Medical Sciences), and Prof. Alia Bashir (Director Medical Education, Allama Iqbal Medical College)—delved into the complexities of pharmaceutical and medical professional relations.

Discussions centered on maintaining a balance between scientific collaboration and commercial influence, ensuring transparency in sponsorships and educational events, and managing conflicts of interest in research and prescriptions.

The panel stressed the urgency of fostering a culture of trust and accountability in healthcare. They underscored the need for clear ethical boundaries and systems that protect patient care while supporting responsible collaboration.
